Cabot Microelectronics Corporation Expands Presence in Japan


AURORA, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 2004--Cabot Microelectronics Corporation (NASDAQ:CCMP), the leading supplier of chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) polishing slurries to the semiconductor industry, announced today that it has purchased land adjacent to its existing Geino, Japan facility, which it plans to use to expand current infrastructure.

Hiroyuki Nishiya, Cabot Microelectronics' Vice President of Northeast Asia stated, "We are extremely pleased to invest in the expansion of our Geino facility.
